Shaheed S. Shoulars, aka 430, was born and raised in Newark, NJ. Growing up in a poverty stricken neighborhood with two brothers and two sisters, Shaheed being the oldest son in a single parent home, he had to become head of his household at an early age. At the age of 16 he began working a summer job to put food on the table and continued working ever since. Although things were not the best at times he made due. His Will and Determination to succeed has made it able for him to accomplish many things in his life. There is one quote that he lives by, “It’s good to start something, but better to finish it”. 430 Grew up listening to many types of music but Hip Hop has always had a special place with him. Listening to Hip Hop Pioneers such as Run DMC, Kool G Rap and Eric B & Rakimhe has always been intrigued by the different types of wordplay and style of Hip Hop. He feels that Hip Hop is one of the only types of art that allows a person to explain what he/she has been through and where they want to be. It is a forum for young people. It is like going to see a psychologist, but instead of lying on the couch, you’re standing on stage in front of a microphone so the whole world can hear your thoughts. 430 has performed at various venues, from doing shows at clubs all over the metro area, Club Demaris, Speed, Newark Symphony Hall and Abyss to name a few, to winning talent shows across the country. He has a strong following on the internet with countless good reviews from magazines and supporters. Many have complimented his laid-back style and witty punch lines. He has been offered contracts with may independent labels and was briefly signed to Mastermind Entertainment, but things were moving a bit to slow for him. Now teamed up with Caile Entertainment he is sure to be the next big thing. Things are now moving and in search of a label that can take him to the next level. 430 chose this name because it was the time he was born. It is very significant to him because he almost died at birth. This marked the beginning of his life and it will mark the beginning of an era in Hip Hop.
