  • Hey Everyone...

I know it's been a long time since I last did a blog. The summer got so busy with my tour and family stuff that i just never got around to it. Sorry bout that.....here's what's been going on the last few months.

I've toured across the country from B.C to Nova Scotia. Playing a lot of big festivals but also a good amount of smaller town festivals. I really enjoy playing the smaller towns....for some reason I always feel like I fit in more there. I guess it's cause I'm from a small town.

One show I played was in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia......the hometown of Paul Davis and his father Jim (They are the 2 that I wrote the song "Somebody's Son" about). I played a show dedicated to Military men and woman. What a great time.....I went over to The Davis' house to say hello in the afternoon before the show and had some seafood chowder while getting to know them a little better. Up til then I had only met Jim and his wife Sharon a few times. What great people......I left there feeling like I was part of there family. They are definitely true Maritimers......selfless people that like to have a good time. I left there wishing I could have stayed for another few days.

In Merritt, B.C it snowed the day we played. I still had a great time but it was a little different seeing people wrapped up in blankets trying to keep warm in July. That was my first time playing the festival and I left there blown away by how nice the staff was at that festival. They were first class and I can see why people enjoy playing there so much.

I brought a little girl on stage with me in Barrie, Ontario. Wow was she cute. She had a shirt on that said..."I want to sing with Aaron Lines". Now how can I ignore that? During the show I noticed she was singing every word to every song....so I brought her up to sing "Love Changes Everything" with me and it was a lot of fun. I still get blown away when people come to my shows and know all the words...or make up signs and t-shirts. It really makes me realize how lucky I am to do what I do. Like my brother-in-law always says.....no one stands up and claps when an accountant does a tax return...or paints there face to go to the dentist.

Anyway.....the summer tour is coming to an end but not before i have 3 more shows this weekend. One in Quebec and 2 in Ontario. It's a long weekend so I'm sure the crowds will be in a good mood and I'm really looking forward to getting out on the road again (I've had the last 2 weeks off).
For those of you going to the CCMA's this year unfortunately I won't see you there. I have a show in Mexico City, Mexico the same day as the awards. I always look forward to the CCMA's and all the fun times with the other artists and music business people......guess I'll have to make up for it next year.
See you all soon I hope. Thanks for all your continued support......I wouldn't be doing this without you.
