  I know Manila is not a usual tourist destination - but it might be interesting? In its pure squalor...? And, to tell the truth, I don't know how large an audience could be summoned here... But there would be at least one devoted fan! ;)

  The Night of the 4th of May.....Sheer Brilliance!!! This is my favorite A.S. song of all time! He is unbelievable live! I agree, he is one of the most underrated songwriters/singers over here Stateside...but in a way, he's like one of those Best Kept Secrets! (R.I.P. Richard Wright (Pink Floyd)...We have truly lost one of the Greatest, today!)

  What a gem of music videos find for me. I saw Al Stewart in London in late 70's, he sold out 2 nites @ Hammersmith Odeon. Many years later I get to see him perform in Dallas in a nite Club. I can never understand how a singer/songwriter like him can be so underrated. I've been listening to Year of the Cat ever since it was released. IMO it is one of the gr8est music albums ever recorded bar non. I still play Year of The Cat from time to time in my Bar & hardly anyone knows who Al Stewa... More...   I agree with everything everyone is saying here about Al Stewart. Songs like 'Roads To Moscow' and 'Life And Life Only' are absolutely timeless. Al was a major reason why I took up songwriting myself. Years later, a violinist I was working with (Graham Smith - ex String Driven Thing) was looking at the record collection in my house and said 'Oh, Al Stewart, I did some sessions for him, but I don't think he used them!'
