If you like rainy days, sand between your toes, sipping on a hot chocolate and the smell of freshly cut grass you'll enjoy the mellow and mysterious sounds of Autumn Sun. Creating their smooth blend of styles in Queensland's beautiful Noosa, Autumn Sun have managed to capture the true essence of raw honesty and unashamed vulnerability. Terry Hesketh's ornate and intricate guitar work superbly complements the velvet vocals and naked poetry of Jana Penshorn. Together the pair create music to uplift, to calm, to provoke thought and to treasure. Forming in 2006, Autumn Sun are fast proving they are an act to watch out for. In the short time that Autumn Sun have been performing together they have already managed to make their live shows captivating, intimate and fresh. Autumn Sun bring all the tightness and technicality of a highly rehearsed act with all of the energy and enthusiasm of a spontaneous musos jam. Since forming, Autumn Sun have played at the inaugural Caloundra Music Festival alongside some of the biggest names in the Australian and international music scene, the highly regarded Troubadour in Brisbane’s music hub, Fortitude Valley, Sunshine Coast’s best originals venue the Upfront Club in Maleny, The Mount Tamborine Peace Festival in the Gold Coast hinterland, ‘The Bang Lasso’ songwriters showcase at Paddington’s Calypso Bar, The Tongue & Groove Café in the funky West End, the ‘Make a Wish - Make it Happen’ Fundraiser for the Make a Wish Foundation and Rosies live music venue in Brisbane just to name a small handful. In late 2007 their talent was recognised when they entered the ’Acoustic Sessions’ comp and were awarded a development deal from Tsunami Magazine and J Squad records. Earlier this year they also managed to place at number 8 on the Triple J Unearthed pop charts with their track ‘The Dead Song’ and have been the feature artist on noise head.com, a site showcasing over 10,000 acts from around the world.
