It all started in freshman algebra class. Rick Sinkiewicz (pronounced 'sink-a-witz') and Thom Brown (pronounced 'tom') shared homework assignments, stories of 'pb&j,' and above all appreciation of music. They exchanged albums and talked of great musical works from the likes of Gene Loves Jezebel, They Might Be Giants, OMD, and even bands that their parents would like. One day they decided to 'start a band.' It was rough at first, but writing and playing music was great fun, not to mention chicks dig rockers. So they ironed out the wrinkles, polished a couple notes, formed a few bands, opened some big time shows, and here they are now with their first release as Brown & Sinkiewicz. The album was recorded in San Diego and Seattle with the help of producer/keyboardist Erich Benedict and drummer Danny Williams. It was a virtual studio, if you will. Musical ideas were exchanged through e-mail, snail mail, phone calls, and plane rides, resulting in a product full of 'radio-ready' hits that they are proud to share, even among perfect strangers!Brown & Sinkiewicz have emerged from the smallest street corners to play San Diego's biggest venues: 4th and B, Belly Up Tavern, Qualcomm Stadium, Del Mar Fair, Cityfest, Borders Books and Music, even the Coach House, and Whisky-A-Go-Go.
