so i'm thinking i have to do a bio cuz apparently that is customary if you, like, wanna be a rocker:) 3rd person is out the window, though. i can't launch into 'cara likes pretty sunsets and lake tahoe and basketball n things' without feeling a little odd... lots of things, lots of people are influencing me to write these days. trips to good places, really neat people i meet along the way, and just life in all of its amazingness. not to mention some great musicians, like jason mraz, pete schmidt, and marc broussard. i've been writing so much lately so it's nice to have the opportunity to be in the studio recording again. i met a great producer named jon armstrong who is helping me finish my upcoming CD 'bend'. psyched to have this completed soon (hopefully april '03 at the latest- fingers and toes crossed)... now for the general deetz- i grew up in a small town in new hampshire (hanover)...so pretty there- mmm woodsmoke in the air...i've always been in love with music but didn't pick up the guitar til college cuz i've always been really into the jocky thing (running, basketball, triathlons, and now snowboarding which is my new love!). since college i've been trying to focus more on music cuz it's another passion! i was lucky enough to be at stanford with my little brother, where both of us majored in english- i hope that we both absorbed some smarts between naps and that maybe you kin hear the result of an inordinately expensive education :) you can hear some of my older (and even some new) music at http://mp3.com/caraaley - the older songs were recorded with my awesome bassist, blyss- he is both a fantastic bassist and producer and I'm really proud of the first CD/EP that we did together. anyway, thank you for making it this far in my bio :) i hope this is only the beginning of a lifetime of music and fun...
