  I bought my ticket to the Bristol gig on something of a whim having probably not heard much, if anything of Cat Power on the radio. Was expecting good things when 'Jukebox' arrived from Amazon, a bit more still on acquiring 'The Greatest', 'You Are Free' and 'The Covers Record'. Nothing prepared for the experience of Monday 9th June! This has to be the best gig I've ever been to! What a cathedral of sound! What music and what musicians! Chan Marshall is a Goddess of that there is no doubt and her voice has to be heard live. Thought I'd died and gone to heaven as she stood about 10 feet away singing 'Metal Heart'. I want to see them again..and again..and again! Not too much but on a regular basis. They have changed me at a molecular level such is the power of what they do and do so very, very well. It was bordering on a spiritual experience. Sunroof open, stereo turned up ('Jukebox' got me home), the moon and the stars peering in, the sun the merest hint of a fiery kiss on the western horizon, the sky not quite fully black. What a night!
