More...Our names are Jesse Nason and Chris Karn. We traveled to the city of New York in the state of New York on Tuesday, May 13th. It was a fun flight, and we learned things from Mutt Lange about the strenuous lead up to the recording of "Hysteria". Much sleep was had, to ponder over the words of wisdom and to prepare for the concert we were set to perform the following day.
On Wednesday, May 14th, we made our way to Joe's Pub, part of the Public Theatre building near NYU. Inside, the lighting and mirrors made us think of Victor Hugo and Ikea light bulbs
It also made us think that we might be able to take good photos of ourselves:
But mostly, it was an excellent performance venue, and we played for people who invent drinks. Its like Mr. Soda and Dr Hopsnbeer were in the room!
Good friends were in attendance, who then convinced us (without much struggle) to stay up later to meet Dr. Hopsnbeer Jr. and Mrs. Lovin Lager. One of these friends, even allowed us to stay at his place in Williamsburg. Here's a photo of him (Bearden) and Chris discussing how Chris needs to mow the lawn the next morning:
After sleeping in until almost June, we decided that we needed to convince the traffic in Times Square to stop for a photo
Rudy Giuliani also ran into tus (true story) but we unfortunately had to tell him that we had a date with an angel (somewhat exaggerated):
Then we decided to make our mom's proud and actually make nice for the camera:
We played another show at The Living Room, which was more like a closet next to your neighbor's apartment where they were playing Lil' Jon till 3 in the mornin. We did not object.
We successfully made it home to Southern California, and we hope that this report will keep us out of summer school this year. We picked up a mean set of Wayfarers, and can't wait to show them off on the boulevard this summer!
Have a neat summer, keep in touch, friends forever!
