Obscene or indecent, sordid: dirty movies; a dirty joke. 3. Malicious or scandalous: a dirty lie. per·fect (pûrfkt) adj. 1. Lacking nothing essential to the whole; complete of its nature or kind. 2. Being without defect or blemish: a perfect specimen. 3. Pure; undiluted; unmixed: perfect red. dirt·y per·fect (dûrt pûrfkt) 1. Noisy, scuzzy alt-rock from South Wales via Australia Rich Frenneaux, having dabbled with more bands during his spell at University than John Leslie has had with the ‘White Stuff’ was becoming increasingly frustrated trying to assemble an outfit with the same endearing passion to create and perform the loudest, scuzziest alt-rock in a musical climate over-populated with ‘authentic’ copyist retro garage throwbacks and a unbearable quantity of ‘emo’ bands with zero originality and better synchronicity than the GB Olympic dance team. Enter James Griffiths via an Ad in a local music store, and having tried a number of bassists, Scott Andrews - whose band Rich was engineering for at the time, acted upon Rich’s quest for a bassist and decided to help out. Following a few sessions at a Cardiff rehearsal room - The fate of DIRTY PERFECT was sealed - the set was complete and honed ready for live consumption. It’s gonna be the tunes that matter, and dirty perfect are chock full of them. Take the opener of their as-yet-untitled forthcoming mini-album ‘Lines Opiate & The Demented Operation’ - the filthiest driving bass-lines collide head-on with razor-sharp guitars and severe kit abuse, amounting to a massive Weezer meets Mclusky chorus of twisted pop genius. ‘My Lover’ is a drunken pole-dance party curated by the Icarus Line with The Kinks screaming over the P.A. And the groove-heavy stomp of ‘Fudge’ sounds like a seriously sedated Beck trying to seduce a thousand girls using only the power of the Big Muff. With only a handful of gigs under their belt, DIRTY PERFECT’s story has only really begun. Jump in the saddle. Buckle up baby. We’re gonna take you on a ride……
