Elana Arian was raised on equal parts Mozart, Mingus, and Mitchell – influences that guided her to study conducting and violin, jazz guitar, and songwriting through college. The New York City based artist blends the discipline of classical, the freedom of jazz, and the candor of folk music into her own unique style as a singer/songwriter. Though clearly a serious musician, Elana knows how to remain accessible. With friendly banter and songs that speak honestly of uncertainty, joy, and heartbreak, she connects instantly with audiences. In the three years since she began performing her own music, Elana has established herself as a bright new voice in the NYC acoustic scene. She has been praised for her “disarming stage presence” with songwriting described as “the perfect balance of emotional fervor and technical restraint." After packing houses at legendary New York City music clubs like the Knitting Factory, and the Bitter End, Elana is currently touring the Northeast, bringing her uniquely captivating show from Maine to Washington DC and promoting her new album, FOREWORD.
