Flat 29 create an eclectic mix of many different styles of music, about various different subjects affecting their everyday lives. Formed in September 2004, when 4 flatmates decided to write a song about a disastrous soup one of them had made, the band blends their many influences and often conflicting musical tastes to create a unique sound. Throughout their first year they wrote and recorded an album, “C.O.T.S: The Bedroom Sessions”, which led to much acclaim from their ever growing fan base. The band’s greatest success to date is reaching the final of Channel 4’s The Richard and Judy Show Christmas song competition in December 2005 with their song “Flat 29 is for life, not just for Christmas”, for which they had a music video made for them, and were interviewed live on the show. The band are currently gigging around Liverpool, and writing and recording a second album. In recent months, Flat 29 have incorporated several new members, allowing for greater diversity, and a fresh perspective on the trials and tribulations of student life.
