  To George: When I was a little girl, my mother would play a tape of the story of The Velveteen Rabbit narrated by Meryl Streep with your songs playing in the background to put me to sleep every night. Your songs filled my dreams and lifted my imagination, and my childhood, in memory, was as beautiful and as haunting and magical as your music. I was lucky enough a few years ago to see you in concert in my hometown at Blackfriars Playhouse, and I look forward to hearing you play in concert again.
