Dear Listener,
Dear Listener,
My friend Hal Ketchum sent me a copy of this album recently with a note telling me that it was recorded “old school” in a matter of three or four days. Well to me “old school” means recorded live in the studio with no fancy technical tricks. What you get is what was played. So, I gave it a real good listen and you know what, I enjoyed the heck out of it just because it was so real and unpretentious and so much fun to boot. Of course I immediately dropped Hal a note and told him how jealous I was about his recording the whole thing in so few days. It’s the way records should be made; but most people don’t have the talent or guts to make them that way these days. Hal has both the talent and the guts and this album proves it. Pop this disk into your player, sit back and become part of the musical festivities. I find it impossible to listen to it without smiling at the sheer exuberance of these tracks.
Play on Hal, old school rules.
Your Friend,
NEIL DIAMOND
