Hicks In Trucks - Country Skiffle Music from Hank Williams' Garage: "We find a bunch of Music Row 'hangarounds' meeting religiously in Hank Williams Sr.'s old garage across from ASCAP over the last year or so, and cutting over three albums' worth of Hank Tubb's songs, the first eleven of which they've put up on the internet in every popular quality format for everyone to hear. The tunes which make up the album of this new Country Music Super-Group are a wonderful blend of old and new Country Folk Rock, with a marvelous country feel that bridges the gap between the nostalgic feelings generated by the music of the 60's to the boot and kick of the Country Pop tunes of today. The first single, 'e-mail fem@le,' is a fine example of The HIX' brand of Country Skiffle music, a short story about love-gone-wrong on the internet, and a precursor to their sequel, 'Romance Tennessee' about online-sorrowful-love in a Chattanooga Chat Room. The remainder of the album is reminiscent of an even more country version (if you can imagine that) of THE BAND, and spins marvelous tales of fractured heroes that would make Waylon and Willie sit up and take notice; all things considered, a long-overdue and pleasant departure from the fast-fading days of manufactured, thin-sounding Country Music."
