Idris Goodwin is a rapper, HBO DEF POET, NEA award winning lyricist - a true independent artist on the grind. A time tested MC, Idris has been word-smithing, and ripping stages for almost a decade. Idris made his solo debut in 2005 with a self titled release on Chicago's Naivete Records, which was hailed as " a reminder that hip hop is about saying important real things." Idris was featured on season six of Russell Simmons HBO Def Poetry and his words can be found in numerous literary publications. Also, a seasoned playwright, Idris' work for theatrical stage has been supported by both The National Endowment of The Arts and The Ford Foundation and been produced in major US markets.
