  Has everone seen "Hail Bop", the documentary on John Adams? Bought it last night on a wim and have it say it is Very well done and an effective primer for this American master and his greatest works. News!

  I'm not sure when a CD might be released... but I just saw it at the Lyric in Chicago. It was opening night, and John Adams himself took a bow. I was mostly pleased. The libretto was a bit distant, and the strongest roles were Kitty and her maid (the men were kind of disappointing). I also thought the interpretive dancers were a bit weak.
