Peace One Day announced today that five-time Grammy Award winning musical phenomenon John Legend will join the Peace One Day Celebration at The Royal Albert Hall on September 21, Peace Day; the annual day of global cease-fire and non violence. Annie Lennox will be live onstage accompanied by her full band and Bryan Adams will perform an acoustic set. To add to an extraordinary night of entertainment, Jude Law will introduce the screening of Jeremy Gilley's acclaimed new documentary, The Day After Peace, in which he features.
Proceeds from the Peace One Day Celebration are earmarked to assist the non-profit organization's ongoing mission to raise awareness of Peace Day, September 21st annually, and manifest life saving activities on the Day. As a direct outcome of Peace One Day's campaigning in 2007, parties in Afghanistan recognized Peace Day resulting in 1.4 million Afghanistan children being vaccinated against polio. Last year, 100 million people in 200 countries were engaged in Peace Day activities and in 14 of those countries, efforts were targeted towards providing life-saving activities and medical services on the Day.

Peace One Day
Peace One Day is a non-profit organisation founded in 1999 by Jeremy Gilley. As a result of Jeremy and Peace One Day's efforts, September 21st is now officially designated by every member state of The United Nations as an annual day of global ceasefire and non-violence, a chance for every human being on earth to express the same desire...to live together peacefully, as one.
The new documentary, The Day After Peace, charts this remarkable 10- year journey taken by Jeremy Gilley to establish an annual Day of peace on September 21st. After the official motion is unanimously sanctioned by the UN, Gilley turns his efforts to implementing the ideals of Peace Day, galvanizing countries and governments to recognize this as an official day of ceasefire and non-violence. Celebrity support from the likes of Angelina Jolie and Jonny Lee Miller and corporate support from Puma, Coca-Cola, Ben & Jerry's and Ecover enhances the momentum. After Jeremy asks Jude Law to accompany him to Afghanistan, Jeremy's persistence is rewarded when UNICEF suggests using the Day to attempt a mass vaccination against Polio in one of the toughest conflict areas in the world.
