I’m just about finished up in the studio with my new album and can’t wait for you all to hear it when it comes out in just a few months. I’m headed to Europe for a couple of weeks- playing shows in London, Dublin, and Paris- so hope all of you out there can come see the show. Check the tour page for dates and info.
I’m also very excited to announce my summer headline tour. Dates are up now on the tour page and tickets will be on sale end of next week. Stay tuned for details, including a special fans only pre-sale starting Wed. 5/28.

so, as you may or may not know, i have been working on my new full length record with rob schnapf (he produced all of elliott smith's records and the first couple Beck records) and rick rubin (if you don't know who rick is, well, you might want to google him cause the credits are too many to list here).
and because all of you have been so patient i decided to release a few of the songs on itunes on feb 12th. it will be a complete the purchase - which means you won't have to buy them again when the full record comes out later this summer and you will get a discount overall if you purchase these 4 songs on feb 12.
the first song on the pre-album teaser (which is what i'm calling it) is "the fear you won't fall". it's the version you heard on grey's anatomy and other shows. thus far you've only been able to download the live version but here is the produced version with all the lovely cello parts and such by the genius that is oliver kraus.
the next song is called "sky" - i wrote it and we recorded it as a duet with the lovely and talented ingrid michaelson - i'm sure you know her but if you don't you soon will... she's unbelievably talented and so funny and cool. you know her song from that old navy commercial that ran like every ten seconds.
the next song is called "lovely tonight" - the female backup vocals were done by catherine feeny (check out her amazing songs as well) and the electric guitar was played by none other than RYAN ADAMS. it was incredible working with him as i'm such a fan of his countless songs.
and finally, i added a live version of "you got growin' up to do" - just me and guitar. bare bones, just like the old days. this song is going to have a very special female vocal added to it for the record verson but it's a surprise. but i can tell you, i can't believe she said yes. it's been a dream to work with this woman.
so i hope you guys dig this. trust me when i tell you, i'm saving the best songs for the full record - these four will be on the record but the best ones, well, i gotta save for the full record. it's coming soon!
if you could help me out and add these songs to your pages, it would help me so much. spread the word, let all your friends know, post bulletins, write blogs, all that good stuff. you have no idea how much it helps with things like getting a major label excited to put the record out sooner than later. it's all up to you guys and you've been there for me thus far, so i'm counting on you again.
also, i'll be hitting the road with ingrid and others like sara bareilles and cary brothers and priscilla ahn (the female vocalist on "the fear you won't fall") in a few weeks so come see us and say hey cause there's no substitute for meeting you all in person.
