Justin King has earned a reputation around the world as a groundbreaking guitar player and songwriter. He has toured the US consistently for several years and has been on major tours with James Taylor and Diana Krall, as well as bills with Nickel Creek, Keller Williams, North Mississippi Allstars, Willy Porter, Mason Jennings and others. In early 2004 he formed a band in order to showcase his new material for labels and management in New York. The band spent the entire month of April in Manhattan rehearsing, playing weekly shows, and developing industry contacts. The experience allowed the band an opportunity to focus entirely on becoming a solid unit; when they returned to Oregon they made the decision to continue working together full time. Since then they have played residencies at the Knitting Factory in Los Angeles and the Tribeca Rock Club in New York City as well as dates in Maryland, Massachussets, and Pennsylvania. In recent months the band has maintained a consistent tour schedule and is building a solid fan base in every major city on the west coast. From day one the first priority of the band has been to create music with artistic integrity and to place freedom of expression and musical exploration before marketability or any other commercial concerns that, in reality, are not related to the music. However, the band continues to be very well received by an international audience and with JustinKing.com currently receiving more than 2,500 hits per day the group is encouraged to continue in its path of creating music that is both unique and highly accessible. The band plans to complete it's first full-length album in March 2005 and will be touring the US in support of its release beginning in April.
