These are some of the descriptions that audiences & music critics have stated time & time again after attending a Kym Verbal performance, whether it's a R&B-soul gig, Jazz or a Gospel concert setting.... Hailing from Southern Pines, North Carolina, Kym started out singing in church at the tender age of 7, and even then friends & family have said that she has "a Ministry".... "The church is my musical & spiritual foundation", says Kym. "Where I grew up, at my church, people sang the songs with feeling, deep from within. I learned to do it that way and of course, with the Neo & the other genres, that's how I bring it...even now with the songs I write, If I can't feel it from the Lyrics or from just listening to the music by itself, I won't record it." In time, word got around the area & Kym became in-demand as a vocalist, doing lead duties for r & b bands and as a featured singer in choirs as well as for commercials on local radio spots. . She got into writing & began recording her own material during a brief stint in the U.S. military as well as performing live.... After relocating to Atlanta she met D. Manor, a talented up coming producer/guitar virtuoso from Cincinnati. "The woman can Flow!" says D.M... "Kym's fast in the studio too, most of the lead vocals are 1st time ...1 take and it's done."
