Band Biography: Michael Smith(#3): Guitar, Vocals •Kevin Parrett(#4): Guitar •Amy Smith(#2): Keyboards •Ian Kaplan(#5): Drums •Lab Partners formed in Dayton, Ohio in June 1998. The band began when Michael Smith, formerly of Honeyburn (Spin Art Records- compilation, Trout Records, Lo-fi Records) got together with Kevin Parrett, formerly of A Ten O Clock Scholar (Grass Records) to pursue other musical interests. With guitars and vocals set, they added Amy Smith on keyboards. Ian Kaplan recently took over drums for Matt Schulz (now drumming for NY-based band, Enon). Ian has played with many local Dayton acts including: Mink, Jane Sachs, as well as touring with a jazz group on off-shore cruise ships.
