
Likewater Biography – September 2003 Likewater's songwriting team of lead singer Jennifer Claveau and guitarist Eric Newby deliver a heartfelt mix of songs based on life experiences, relationships and personal beliefs. Their striking vocal presence, catchy melodies and tasteful guitar sensibility enable them to connect with the audience on an emotional level. Influenced by a wide range of music from Fleetwood Mac to The Smiths, Likewater's sound has developed into guitar oriented, melody-based acoustic pop in the tradition of other successful Canadian bands such as Blue Rodeo, Sarah McLachlan and Sarah Harmer. After playing together for a little over two years, Likewater's resume is impressive. They showcased at the 2001 NXNE Festival, they took part in the Brampton Tea House Series, recently completed a year long monthly residency at C’est What and are currently hosting a popular open-stage in downtown Toronto. Fans are eagerly anticipating the release of Likewater's first album in the fall 2003, which will feature tried and true favorites like "Moment in the Light", "Who Wouldn't" and "The Radio Song".
