Lix is a rock trio that has been in the Chicagoland area for a few years looking to find a spot amongst the up and coming bands on the verge of making a name for themselves. Lix has their roots spread through a diverse spectrum of influences from Led Zeppelin and Stevie Ray Vaughan to Collective Soul and Soundgarden. Upon encountering the trio at a live show you will notice right away that they are different than most bands you'll come across. It's not just their talent or ability to perform in front of a live audience, but the energy they spread through their music. We really try and set ourselves apart from a lot of modern music," says Derek "and because of that we do a lot of things on the spot in our sets. So you never really get the exact same show twice." On several occasions audience members have walked away from a Lix show wide eyed. "That's my favorite part," says Jay "most people don't expect that kind of sound to come out of three guys onstage, especially after they get a look at Brad. I mean, Derek and I hold our own, but Brad's flat out amazing." Brad is definitely set apart from most guitarists. Constantly being compared to guitar greats like Joe Satriani and Eric Johnson, both audience members and other musicians pay him respect after every show. "I really don't read into what others say that much," comments Brad. "I just play the best I can every night and people seem to like it." Their potential has been realized by other respectable bands, industry representatives, and a number of fans that continue to support and wait for Lix to hit it big. A couple of Chicago Rock stations have featured their music on air. Lix has also received acclaim in the local newspaper, which featured their picture and quotes from the band. In addition, each show seems to bring a bigger stage and a bigger crowd. Lix has a lot of natural talent, but there is no substitute for hard work. It's their extreme desire to never give in or give up that will pave the way for their future success.
