    I would die if ya'll came to SC. Nobody good ever comes here. Charleston's gorgeous! Columbia's got tons of places. You guys are amazing, but unfortunately never close enough. :-(

    Yay, y'all are coming to Birmingham. Awesome. By the way, the new EP is great. I've been making sure that we play it at Oz Music in Tuscaloosa where I work. It's a nice, stripped down change of pace from the first album. Can't wait for the new album to drop.

        We showed up to a very strange town at 2 or 3 pm. After a long tour. People in the town were staring at us. All the pizza places were closed. We were ushered up to a tiny studio, packed to the gills with gear that got the saliva glands working. Despite the lack of food. The Daytrotter beauties were kind enough to stock the fridge with cold beer, and it did the trick.

        "This might end up being fun," one of us said.

        And it was. 

        Chris played his drum kit with brushes, Emily got down on a piano, Tyler used a bass that he thought "ruled," and Erik played his violin and some noisy boxes that he found, tucked in between bodybuilder magazines and an old issue of Playboy, featuring Tonya Harding. Post-celebrity boxing, of course. I played an acoustic guitar that I found.

        We hadn't done most of these songs in any sort of live setting yet. We had recorded the album over three months in Chicago, promptly forgotten about it, and headed straight out on a West Coast tour. Hopefully that fact alone makes these recordings and interesting time capsule of where the songs stood in early June of 2008.

        That's the hope anyway.

        Live to two track, in a very strange town.
