If you haven't found a good enough reason to pre-order my new cd, Under Summer Sun yet, here's my last attempt at wooing you-
YOU CAN NOW PRE-ORDER "UNDER SUMMER SUN" ON ITUNES!!
Yep, it's true- and you'll still get 'Where We Started', the 7 song acoustic EP, but not until September 16th, when the album comes out!
Also- I'm going to be headlining some shows in the Midwest in October (or ROCKtober, as I like to call it). I'll have a band with me and we'll be playing some of the new tunes- so see if we're anywhere close to you and come say hey!
Want to hear one of the new songs from the CD? I posted a song called 'Keep Faith' that I wrote after talking with one of my friends who was really hurtin' after a broken relationship. I wanted to encourage her toward what she knows to be TRUE. Give it a listen and let me know what you think! I can't wait for y'all to hear the rest of it!

i just bit into a sandwich and i think i ate a fly. yep. sitting outside at one of my favorite coffee spots in Nashville, soaking up tha 615 before heading out on tour this fall, and apparently the word just got out among the fly community that I have something they are looking for. Awesome.
'What's this tour you speak of?' i hear you asking... well let me tell you-
I've been given the amazing opportunity to go out in support of two different artists this fall, Gavin DeGraw for the next 3 weeks, and O.A.R. after that! Needless to say, I'm really excited and wanted to let you in on the goodies. If you're in or around any of the following cities, come out and see us! It should be a really fun fall- oh yeah, and my record, "Under Summer Sun" comes out on September 16th!! BRING IT!

It's Wertz. Ever been referred to as a 'party person' before? No? Well, congratulations! I hope y'all are enjoying the summer. It's crazy that my instincts every summer are to go to the pool, eat ice cream, and play tennis. Someone should remind me that i'm not 13 anymore.So i wanted to write and announce a really cool opportunity I've been given to go play some shows with the band O.A.R. this September! The first show is on September 15th in Nashville, at the Ryman Auditorium! Ever since i've been in Nashville, I've wanted to play the Ryman, so as you could imagine, I'm stoked. We're playing a total of 8 shows together, and I'll be back out with the band, which i'm way ready for as well!
Another thing that is rad is that it is going to fit in perfect with the release date for my new album, 'Under Summer Sun' which will now be released on Tuesday, September 16th! Why are new releases always on Tuesday? Note to self...ask the record label why new releases are always on Tuesday...
We thought September 16th would be a better time to put the album out, so I hope you don't mind waiting a few more weeks. It will be worth the wait. I promise. September 16th it is. Tuesday. The second one in September, actually.
Ok, that's all i got. I'm gonna go for a run around the block. Literally.

And when you do, you can download the 'Where We Started' EP right away FOR FREE! Its got 7 songs I recorded acoustically; including 2 new ones- 'Someone Like You' and 'Lord Knows How Hard I've Tried' as well as versions of '5:19', 'Everything's Right' and 'Carolina'.
There are a couple pre-order options, one with an exclusive 'Under Summer Sun' t-shirt ($25), and one without ($15). Apr 18, 04:34 PMSpecial Acoustic ‘Where We Started Tour’ 2008Holler from Johnson City, Tennessee where Barnes and Andy Davis and I are getting ready to melt the faces off drothes of people. Yes, I said 'drothes' and no, I don’t know what that means.
I wanted to give you a heads up on a couple things that are happening right now in Wertz World (remind me to trademark that).
First of all, if you've got one eye on your phone, and it doesn't have 5:19 as its ringtone - there's no excuse anymore because it’s up and available for every major cell phone carrier. Now when I call you, my song will play - how cool is that!
Also, I'm excited to announce the 'Where We Started' tour that is on pre-sale to my friends (y'all) today! I'm doing the tour as an acoustic duo with my friend Justin Rosolino. The idea behind it is to throw things back a couple years to when we were playing smaller rooms with fewer people on stage. Needless to say I'm SO EXCITED about this. I love the interaction that takes place in these rooms and I can't wait to see y’all out! Spread the word because the rooms are smaller and there are fewer tickets available in each place, so you'll want to get on it quick!

Apr 01, 03:33 PMNEW 5:19 on iTunes - Solo Acoustic TourHeya! Wertz up in herre, living it up in Vail, Colorado, taking advantage of a fresh dumping of snow- 16 inches to be exact! My friend and i busted it out here this weekend to get our last fill of snowboarding in before the season's over, and are LOVING LIFE!
As you can guess, though- that's NOT why i'm sending this email, although i have been known to send emails to friends rubbing in the fact that i'm somewhere awesome and they aren't.
What i wanted to let you know is that the official NEW SINGLE VERSION of 5:19 is available TODAY on all the digital music providers (iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, you get the idea...) as well as Somedays, Twenty Three Places, and the Today & Tomorrow EP. 'Everything in Between' will be available again once 'Under Summer Sun' is released in August. I know y'all are probably saying 'yeah, cool, Wertz, but haven't your albums been available online for a couple years now?' And the answer is YES, but they've been unavailable over the last few months as we've made the switch to working with Universal Republic.
SOOOO....all that to say, go check the new 5:19 out and crank it loud in your car stereo- this is the version that will hopefully be playing on the radio soon in your city!

I'm realizing there are a lot of exclamation points in this email. Believe me, if there were another form of punctuation i could use that expressed excitement, I'd do it- but right now, the exclamation point kinda has a monopoly. maybe we can invent one. That's it! A new punctuation would be good for consumers, offering us a CHOICE when it comes to showing excitement! Hecht- are you getting this?
Back to Facebook- while you're there, you can upload your photos and videos from shows or the paprazzi-style shots you've been getting of me while i'm snowboarding in Colorado. You think i haven't seen you? Nice try- no squirrel is THAT big.
