I cannot believe we're already more than half way through 2009! I mean, July already?? I can remember EVERY detail of where I was in my life this time last year...it doesn't seem like it could possibly be a year later already!
So how was everybody's 4th of July??
Mine was quite humorous.
My Aunt Kathy aka Aunt Bubba and Grandma came down over the weekend from Michigan. Which, was awesome, because I was ridiculously homesick and heartbroken when I had to leave Michigan a couple weeks ago after my brother's graduation party. So to have some of the family down here is awesome. Anywho...we ventured over to Hohenwald to visit my Grandma's brothers ala my great-uncles/aunts/cousins. We went to their church's fish fry where I managed to eat my body weight in catfish, hush puppies, coleslaw, white beans, and more...and not only that, but managed to sample EVERYTHING on the dessert table as well. (It's a good thing I'm a work out fanatic!!) After that, my friend and I rushed back into town so that we could try'n catch Wynonna play on the Riverfront Stage before the fireworks show. Little did we know, when we parked our car in the ghetto and walked a ways to the stadium, on our way to try to cross the pedestrian bridge to downtown...that we'd get stuck in the mother of all rain storms aka Nashville's 4th of July "monsoon". My curled hair and sundress look lasted about 10 minutes before we were drenched to the bone, my umbrella had been blown inside out, and people were running back to their cars.
But me?
Nooooo.
The fireworks shows in Nashville started an hour early to "avoid" the storms. Which, it obviously, did not. But like troopers, we stayed for the entire show. And walked all the way back to the car, looking like fools and singing Michael Jackson song lyrics the whole way.
So, no Wynonna. No staying dry. Butttt...without a doubt, the most hilariously random and entertaining 4th of July yet!
Writing a lot this coming week...looking forward to seeing what we come up with!!
