Shawn sang happy birthday tonight (along with everyone in the Birchmere) to my son, Nate. What a treat!
Thanks, Shawn...

OK...won't insult anyone's intelligence...I'm a metal & blues fan/musician, but Shawn puts on a good show (makes ya feel like she's a dear old friend that dropped by for a visit with her guitar) and I LOVE 'A Few Small Repairs"...
I hope I can see her in concert again one day...

Shawn is an inspirational composer, guitarist and singer. Someday I hope to see her in person. And I've always wondered wher "Windo to the World" came from on her covers album. A little jewel of a song....

One of the greatest concerts I've ever seen was Richard Thompson & band at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, B.C., back in the early 90s - with Shawn Colvin opening for Thompson, and then playing with the band. Very different musicians, but a fantastic synergy. But I've never seen her here since - planning to go to the Woodinville concert in July. Brave, searingly honest, gorgeous stuff... I feel downright deprived up here in out-of-the-loop Vancouver!
