Chelmsford band ‘Soprano’ are one of a newbreed of D-I-Y indie-pop bands. As a band they've managed to organise a 50 date tour around England and Wales and also a download single release, with which they're aiming to reach the official top 40 chart, a single release and have played around 100 gigs off of their own back in little under a year spending most of the time in their tour van. A lot of this has been made possible by the internet based social networks such as Facebook and Myspace. The band have adopted the theory that where there's people there is potential for a gig and in exercising this theory they have played in living rooms, high streets and schools all over the country as well as sticking to their rigorous tour schedule. On 12th November2007, Soprano are set to release their debut single, the ever popular, ‘DirtyTricks’ as a download on i-Tunes and are aiming for the charts. A number of the band’s songs have appeared on mainstream radio in the UK,the US, Canada and Germany and the song 'Fame' finished top of the unsigned chart on Time Fm in London.
