SR Nation,
State Radio's Take the Country Back Fall 2008 tour is getting underway and we have a ton of exciting news about the dates. First, we've added a couple of new stops in the Northeast to the tour since we last checked in with you. We'll be at Hamilton College in NY on October 23rd, and then on October 26th we've got an exciting stop at Providence, RI's Dunkin Donuts Center for the Rock the Ink tattoo convention, playing alongside a battery of talented tattoo artists.
We're also excited to announce that State Radio is kicking off their city-by-city pre-show action events to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The Take the Country Back tour aims to spread the message of respect, fairness, justice, and equality and recognize the value and dignity of all people, and this is State Radio's way of participating. Join the band before the show in your city and come together for some service, action, face time with the band, and in many cases, a special acoustic set just for volunteers!
Learn more about the tour and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, read updates, and RSVP for the action in your city at http://stateradioaction.com.
Along with the pre-show actions, a number of organizations will be joining the band along the way. The voter mobilization group HeadCount will be joining us at many of the upcoming shows; stop by their tables for a FREE raffle of an autographed item at each show (you'll need to "Pledge to Vote" to enter). If you would like to volunteer for HeadCount, register to vote or learn more about the organization, please visit www.HeadCount.org A few volunteer spots are still available for most of our upcoming shows.
As a reminder, deadlines to Register to Vote are quickly approaching; for many states the last day to register is October 4th. If you've moved, never registered, would like to vote at a new school address, or just aren't sure about your registration status, please Register to Vote at www.HeadCount.org Don't wait! Register to Vote today.
Speaking of contests, don't forget to log in to Facebook and enter to win a pair of tickets to the show in your city. All you have to do is RSVP "Attending" or "Maybe Attending" and you will be automatically entered to win. We will select a winner a few days before each show so be sure to RSVP right away.
