The time has never been better for Stu Nevitt to create his first solo CD. Having spent 21 years and attaining worldwide recognition as a founding member and drummer/percussionist for the group Shadowfax, he and the band enjoyed a very rewarding and profitable career. Grammy Award winners in 1988 and nominees in 1992, they reached sales figures of 250,000 on several of their albums. Their tours found them headlining such venues as Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Red Rocks and The Montreux Jazz Festival. Due to the untimely passing of Chuck Greenberg, the group stopped recording and touring in 1995. Yet there are still tens of thousands, and perhaps hundreds of thousands of fans that are craving more of the pleasure they received from Shadowfax. We are proud to present this sampler from The Sisters, by Stu Nevitt. Having spent the last year writing and creating his own sound samples and songs electronically, Stu has formulated his first solo CD and wants to continue on the trail that Shadowfax so beautifully blazed, while continuing to grow as an artist. The project features three of the loves of his life: World Music, the Blues and the poetry of Rainer Maria Rilke. It also reunites Stu with GE Stinson. The cofounder of Shadowfax contributes his cutting edge guitar work on Black Cat and Sense of Something Coming / The Widower's Song. Stu's vision for creating the CD includes bringing together a band of the finest musicians available, along with singers and voiceover artists, to manifest his songs into a full length, live-feel album. We are seeking a recording or development deal towards that end and hope you enjoy what you hear. Thank you for your time!
