  I pulled out Cathoilic Educationand took it with me to the car. As Heavy Metal and Everything Flows blasted out at the loudest threshold to bleeding ear levels, I drove around the deadwater that is Troon, I suddenly reminisced back to the days of it's release. I spent £6.99 of what was left of my wages after paying my Mum my digs money and a Friday night in Girdwoods in Wishaw, on the 12" vinyl version of the album, and got home and listened to it for the first time. It sounds as fresh now, ... More... I pulled out Cathoilic Educationand took it with me to the car. It sounds as fresh now, as it did then. The intervening years have brought us gems like Mellow Doubt and Mount Everest, but this was the quintessential Fanclub for me. I'm not 16 anymore,and I don't go to Impulse records in Motherwell to get my records, in part because it aint there now. It doesn't stop me though, enjoying it like the first time again and again.
