i also agree with jimmy to some extent. However not all new hip-hop is played down. I am in fact a fan of Kanye. not all new "rappers" follow the trend. And yes i admit kanye changed a lot from his first album but just cuz of that it doesn't mean he's at the level of 50. And of course i don't think he's anywhere near the fugees.

Did the reunion fizzle out? The Dave Chapelle's block party appearance had me all excited, but then both Chapelle and the Fugees disappeared?

I agree completely with Jimmy. I actually wrote a 15 page essay in my college english class pretty proving why hip hop is not dead. I mean yes it is dead in tha commercial aspect, it has been for waaaaaay too long, but frankly i dont care cuz that commercial stuff u hear aint hip hop. U jus need to dig beneath tha surface where most "Hip Hop fans" take for granted or are jus too ignorant n dont knoe anything bout true hip hop culture; Underground/Indie is where is at. U jus need to dig beneath tha surface where most "Hip Hop fans" take for granted or are jus too ignorant n dont knoe anything bout true hip hop culture; Underground/Indie is where is at. Now personally i am not a fan of Lil Wayne, but u gotta look at tha bigger picture, he aint as bad as lot of other artists. I've analyzed his lyrics from bak in tha day when he was wit cash money fake stuff, n his lyrics now; they have to some degree but very little, grown. Now u take these people wit dance routines now thas where tha prollems are at. Those lyrics are extremely elementary n downrite embarassing to tha hip hop community. Ignorant people (people who aint down wit true hip hop culture) mistake this s**t music wit hip hop; thas wat we should ultimately be concerned wit, we need to distinguish that garbage from genuine hip hop music, which is all underground nowadays. Also taking into account bak in tha dayz of tru hip hop commercial artists (i.e. Biggie, 2pac, Boogie Down Productions, Public Enemy, Big Daddy Kane, etc.)
