Scaffold is a new Danish metal band with thrash, heavy metal, death metal and rock inspirations. The band doesn´t limit itself to one particular branch of metal music. Instead, various styles are mixed together to form an expolsive cocktail of punch, groove and melody. The basic idea with this band, is to keep the music as simple as possible without losing any nerve or agression along the way. With the exception of lead singer, Asbjørn Steffensen (Descensus), none of the band members have ever played metal until Scaffold was formed in late November 2005. Playing metal is therefore a totally new experience for three out of the four band members (who are used to playing “regular” rock music). As a result of this, Scaffold isn´t a typical thrash – or heavy metal band. The music has a more “rock-like” sound to it than most of the metal music that´s heard today. The members of the band make a point of telling, that they aren´t trying to create ground-breaking – or even original music for that matter (so don´t even bother!). In fact, Scaffold is ment as a kind of tribute to the metal-cliché of bad attitude and worse lyrics. “There are enough bands out there at the moment, who are trying to re-invent metal. We just picked this particular style because it´s easy to play - and a lot of fun at the same time. Also you won´t have any problems tapping your foot to the rythm when you´re listening to it”, the band explains. Scaffold´s new (and first) promo-cd, titeled “Diesel Beast”, features three tracks of groovin´ Truck ´n´ Roll Metal. The CD was recorded at CB-Studios in Holsted (DK), January 2006, in collaboration with technician/producer, Christian Bonde Sørensen. We hope you will enjoy listening to it. Scaffold
