During the 90s I played sax and clarinet and wrote for a six-piece acoustic rock band called The Afternoons. We released an album called Homage which was described by a leading critic as 'the most sophisticated debut album' by any Irish artist. After the inevitable demise of the band I got involved in a couple of projects until late 2005 when I took up guitar and started to write again and to sing for the first time. I did some recording during 2006 and have put a 5 song EP together that was ready for end-2006 / early-2007. The new material is mostly acoustic but probably better described as 'adult contemporary' with a range of subjects and themes from love, to loyalty to selling out... My own website hosts material recorded several years ago with a female lead (two of these are also on Garageband) and also hosts my new recordings (me singing). If you'd like a free copy of my EP please contact me by email (tony.tyrrell@gmail.com) giving me your contact info.
