Tryad's story is a rather interesting one, and it all happened through the fascinating system of Creative Commons licenses. Originally, I (in Ohio) had found a song by an artist named rjmarshall (who was living in Japan) called "Tinderbox," which I remixed and renamed "The Big Finale." I sent the copy to rj, and he was very impressed, so much so that he posted it online. Another artist named vavrek (who was them living Seattle) found that song, e-mailed me, and asked for source tracks so he could sing over top of it. I told him to use the track as it was, and I would personally mix the final track. The result was "The Final Rewind," and the birth of Tryad. Myself, rj, and vavrek all started a group, and I came up with the name Tryad, originally meant to represent the three of us. But, more have since joined us, and we've just finished completion on our first album, and are inching close to releasing it. Much of the content comes from Creative Commons material, and we're licensing it under a similar license to spread the wealth.
