Kate grew up surrounded by the sounds of rock and blues - whether it was her father's hard rock bands of the 70's and 80's, or the great voices of rhythm and blues - Kate formed her own unique fusion of rock, R&B and alternative. Kate was discovered singing in a hometown restaurant when she was 16 by manager/producer Kasaan Hammon. After Kate finished high school, she moved to Philadelphia to work with a team of writers, producers and musicians assembled by Ms. Hammon's company, Trigger Management. Kate Dovelyn was featured on the Comcast Network in 2005 as emerging talent to watch and was voted as 2004's Best Original Live Act in Philadelphia in an online poll.
