I am a lyricist (really, just a lyricist!!). Since I began writing songs, my writing partner has been the phenomenal singer/pianist/composer/coolchick Amber deLaurentis (www.amberdelaurentis.com). The deLaurentis/Blue song "Lonely in Love" took 2nd place in the "Pop" category of the Billboard International Songwriting Contest; our "Calliope Calling" placed in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest; and an Amber deLaurentis Band 6 song ep was voted "Best Live Album" by the Just Plain Folks Musicians Network. The Amber deLaurentis Band also won the grand prize at the Discmakers/Billboard Independent Music World Series (Northeast) in 2002, showcasing a set of tunes all composed with my lyrics. Recently I discovered that I also enjoy writing with other partners, who have included the Chicago composer/producer Jim Tullio (John Martyn, Mavis Staples, Los Lonely Boys etc.), Scottish siren Lisa Hutchison, and those incredibly talented and sexy goofballs from "Shame" (www.shamemusic.com).
