so your stuff is pretty magical. and personally, i think you guys are much much better at the softer, folkier songs like "fix myself" than "fall away" but maybe thats just me. who knows? and while im clearlly not an expert in music producing, nor do i claim to be, id say that your more folky songs, are much better produced, though the precussion could be turned down a little. fuck im sounding like an asshole. my bad.
but anyhoo, im doing my best to spread you about the university of michigan... "Better Off Dad" is Jaimee Harris and her dad. We live outside of Waco, Texas...and we play live as an acoustic duo, mostly in Dallas. Jaimee is 17 now. Dad is...older.
We began gigging on the weekends at various venues throughout Texas in late 2004, and we're having a lot of fun with it. We've recorded three full length CD's, and unlike all of "Dad's" previous efforts, these actually sell.
Jaimee's my daughter, so I'm biased, but I think she has a lot of talent, and it's been a thrill to see her grow as a musician and an artist over the past couple of years. Most of our stuff is recorded as we write it (with much assistance from generous and talented musicians from various places around the internet). Our live shows consist of just the two of us with guitars, but we wanted to do more with the recordings.
More than anything, this project is an opportunity to spend time with my daughter, and to teach her what I know (good and bad) about music and the business thereof and about what's REALLY required for people who want to do it full-time. I haven't scared her off yet, but there's still time. We have a (live) video on the mp3 page of our website...It's old now...man, I wanna' do that again.
