With their 2006 release "Et Al", Moving Atlas (Dallas,TX) deftly explores and expands on topics like self realization, confidence, the perils of starvation, and man's millennial battle with the persistence of time. Now, with a few years behind them, a new record about to drop, and the acquisition of veteran drummer, Ross Rubio, they have become a highly evolved and focused quintet. Moving Atlas achieves a peculiar combination of flexible, revolving guitar melodies based on a dynamic, all-wheel grip rhythm duo and a story-driven, elastic vocal dignity. Moving Atlas' brand of music has been compared to the likes of Tool & Incubus, but with each member having such a wide variety of influential direction, it is a challenge to truly pin-point the sound that is created by this group of friends and musicians. Over the life of this project, Moving Atlas has always performed with a sense of urgency, diligence, and pride, hoping for the right someone to take note on a style of music from which they have trademarked. With their 2008 release, "The Elephant Gun E.P.", look for Moving Atlas to continue on that same path as they find themselves within arms reach of greatness.
