I know - part of me is really excited, the other part really nervous. Some of the tracks I've heard from the version floating around right now did not appeal to me; I'm hoping that it's a stunt to gather publicity and that the true release will sound great.

If a disappointing album was the last album put out, I would rather have no album. If the disappointing album was followed by more great albums, I wouldn't mind the disappointing album at all. But if the diappointing album was the last one, I would feel cheated somehow...Waiting for a new album, anticpating it, being let down by what was released.

I have to agree with your Portishead comment. I know that it takes longer for some groups to release albums, but it's been...10 years?? And the solo stuff doesn't count. I keep hoping that something will come, but I'm starting to think another Portishead album is as likely as an Elizabeth Fraser solo album.
