Great playlist Blaine- if you like Macon Hambone Blues give a listen to Drunk Again from the Paul Butterfield Blues Band album In My Own Dream. The last minute or two sounds like Elvin Bishop is chanelling BB King. Guaranteed goosebumps- David

"Yeahhhhhhhhhhh! It doesn't get much hotter than this. The Who. Won't Get Fooled Again! Damned straight."

"Woooo! 1969, baby! Another "instant flashback" song! :)"

Nov 10, 2006

"Owww! Another "not for virgin ears," but killer southern blues. Jimmy Hall can flat-out wail. Otherwise known as "The All-American Hot Dog Eatin' Blues." :)"

"Now we're getting down to it. "That's Alright," off of "Drippin' Wet Live" by Wet Willie is a screaming harmonica-blues jam that will flat knock your socks off. If it doesn't, you must be brain dead, or you just don't like raw blues. I tried to fashion my own harmonica playing to follow Jimmy Hall. I'll never be as good, but if I'm a tenth as good as him, I'm great."

"Not for virgin ears, but I LOVE this GNR song where Axl challenges his detractors by name... "Get in the ring!""

"Day Or Night by Little Feat is one of my favorite studio cuts by this band. I've worn out record albums, multiple cassette tapes, CDs and now MP3 playing this song over and over. iLike.com links to the live Waiting For Columbus track. I prefer the studio cut on Last Record Album."

"You never heard of Eddie Harris? Go listen to this... I think it was recorded about 1966... trip on that while Eddie smokes your mind with his sax!"

"Echoes, one of my fave Pink Floyd numbers. I just bought this on iTunes. I have the record. Would have preferred the CD, but too expensive. I have all the early Pink Floyd records up to Dark Side of the Moon. I have the DSOTHM gold CD. But after that, their music stopped appealing to me."

"Woo hoo! High school days, man. My friends Ruben and Sam were into this album, this song. We listened to it over and over. Originally inspired me to buy a harmonica. I play to this day!"
"Woot! Besides the obvious monster hits, I LOVE this song by the Who. "Out of my brain on the train!""
""I'm shufflin' through the Texas sand, but my head's in Mississipi...""

""Crunchy" is hilarious! It's on the last studio album by ZZ Top and represents some of their best later stuff. "Crunchy? I don't know what is that!""
"I dig this B-52's song. You should see the strange video they did for this one."

Oct 31, 2006

"One of my favorite Stones songs of all time..."
"My favorite song by Stevie Ray of all time, Couldn't Stand The Weather." They played this in their Blaisdell Arena show. It just screamed!"

"This one always takes me back in time to the early 70s."
