"Some great new material from a legendary band..."
Jul 29, 2007
"One of my favorites by this band - I simply love this mean, straight forward double-bassdrum. (So much for my folky phase...)"
"How to describe this: Gothic Country? Blackgrass? Anyway: Beautiful voices and songs somewhere between Jim "Wrong Eyed Jesus" White and Johnny Cash. Great. (I'm in one of my folky phases right now, but don't worry: You cannot kill the Metal!)"

"Such a great song!"

"Our secret super-hit - written by ME! ME! ME! Huahahahahahaaaaa! (Demonic laughter...) Its about a boy from germany whose girlfriend takes part in a student-exchange-program to the USA, and that makes him very, very, very, very sad. And what do sad german boys do? They take their guitar and sing, sing, sing."

"This hurts. Really. But what did you expect? Its fuckin' Merzbow, not Sigur Ros!"
May 10, 2007
"Yeah, check this one! It's like The Muppets meet The Feebles! And it fuckin grooves!"
"This is a live-recording of a rather mediocre BM-Song, but it always makes me smile to hear the singer croak "Thank you very very much!" in his meanest Black Metal voice. Its like hearing the devil roar "Sorry, I didn't mean to eat the last piece of cake. I'll bake another, okay?""
"Yessss, now THAT'S the real stuff! I love his playing, and he managed to record a 10-minute-version of "All Blues" with guitar, bass & drums which won't get boring for a single second!"
"Of course it's nothing against the original Priest-song, but... a, heck, this kicks ass!"
May 04, 2007
"Italian futurist Luigi Russolo was kind of the godfather of industrial and noise-music. In early 20th century, he developed so-called "intonarumori", that (re)produced certain sounds of modern living: Cars, engines, but also quite abstract noises, like "howling", with which Russolo composed some quite unique and biizarre stuff. Unfortunately there's no original recording of his compositions, and most of the original "intonarumori" were destroyed or got lost."
Apr 20, 2007
"Cool shit! Imagine Frank Zappa and John Zorn being some pot-smoking metalheads and producing a record together. (Not that hard to imagine, is it?)"
Mar 05, 2007
"You're the devil - we're the D!"
"Jazz-Dude goes Horror - sounds fun! This is Mr. Medeski playing some of the old Goblin-tunes from the Dario Argento-movie Suspiria."
Dec 22, 2006
"Dave Lombardo had too much coffee this afternoon, so he turned into MANIAC DEATH DRUMMER!"
Dec 15, 2006
"This one needs a bit of work (lyrics), but nevertheless I like it. No wonder: I wrote it."
"And the second of 3: Hellhound!"

The operation went well, I was in for a new heart, I was just too cold-blooded before. As you can see that's fine. But the bastard doctor son-of-a-dentist went and messed around with some other parts that he wasn't supposed to touch. Yikes! Time for some re-corrective surgery ...

Hi Thomas, Ian's brother plays bass with the Be Good Tanya's, they're from Vancouver. But you knew that?

Hey Thomas, my current vintage dub tip is "Scientist Rids The World Of The Evil Curse Of The Vampires" - it'll be your cup of tea for sure!

Sorry, that was a bit confusing at the end. The band is "La Duesseldorf" from Klaus Dinger, motoroik drummer supreme with early Kraftwerk and on the Neu! records. All of this stuff is great.

Hey Thomas, Joe Meek is weird and beautiful stuff, you should read about his life story, very bizarre indeed. I'm currently delving deep into the realms of Krautrock, now there's a strange world. Did all of D-land take LSD at once or what happened? Current listening: La Duesseldorf Hometown for you, non?
