I keep seeing you in the top listeners for a bunch of my favorite artists; we're already friends on iLike, but kudos on your taste anyway :)

Well, through unnamed sources, I have acquired a promo copy for now. I intend on buying the album since I would anyway, but as a fan, couldn't wait any longer. My verdict right now on Spock's Beard, the best album they have ever written without Neal and shows that they can make excellent music without him too. It's right below Frost* on my list of albums for this year, knocking down A.C.T., Lacuna Coil and In Flames all one spot.

It's simply amazing! Definitely the best progressive album of the year. Wait till the new Spock's Beard, it puts Neal Morse music to shame.

You can always recommend a tune/artist/album even when it's not a blue hyperlink. Just click on the little window icon next to that song's number of plays. You'll see the "Recommend" button underneath the tune, in addition to the iTunes Search link. Clicking on the search link tells the viewer's iTunes app to do a search for the artist and song. For instance, my Avian pick... even though it's not hyperlinked, it still shows up in iTunes. The only reason the song title isn't blue is because iLike hasn't expanded their database with Avian's info. Just my 2ยข, but I hope it helps!

(there's nowhere here to put notes to myself so I'll use this space) It's weird that I purchased "Go Your Own Way" by Lindsey Buckingham on iTunes but that its title doesn't show up blue, meaning there's no "purchase" link or "recommend" link.

"Jenny Owen Youngs turns a good rap in to a GREAT song. It seems this could be little more than a cute novelty, but it's so much more; without losing the humor inherent in covering such a song, Youngs makes it something even better. Get this!"

"This song is from a CD made available only to Neal Morse's "Inner Circle." I pay ten bucks a month to support Neal's music and ministry; every two months, as a thank you or something, Neal sends a CD or DVD of rarities, bootlegs, demos, or whatever. It's good stuff, especially if, like me, you live far, far away from anywhere Neal ever plays! Check his website if you're interested."

"I want to go out with a girl named Alison just so she can dump me and I can sing this song to her."
"Holy crap, I totally love this song. "Ev!ery! sing!le night, they're driiiiiiiving meeeeee innnnnnsaaaaaaaaaaane!""
"There are few singers as awesome as Ronnie James Dio. His powerful, growling, wailing, menacing voice, combined here with some of the rockingest keyboards I've ever heard and some great fantasy-themed lyrics make this one of my favorite songs."
"One of the greatest rap songs of the nineties, the sampled groove, clever rhymes, strong delivery, and thoughtful lyrics make this a regular listen for me. I wasn't a fan of the video (violence sucks) but I was a fan of the sentiment."
"I mostly dislike it when good, fast-playing bands play slowly (because most of them can't do it well), but this is one of the rare exceptions. I love the long, slow, descent and rise in this song. Hetfield's singing is seldom better than on this song!"
"Probably the best of Bruce Cockburn's early work, when he was still mostly considered a folk musician. I love the waltzy feel and of course the sincerity of the lyrics and singing. This song was recently covered by k.d. lang."

"FOUR was Blues Traveler's breakout album, but BRIDGE is the band's best, most consistent effort. It's funky and groovy in a laid-back way -- the band makes it sound both effortless and virtuosic, if that's a word. Jack Johnson clearly shares Blues Traveler's spirit, but lacks the chops and creativity. Great kicking-back music."
