"Just found these guys on the hypem blogosphere. I'm intrigued enough to go and get some more. I have a feeling most of my ilike buds maybe have some insight already??? Do, tell me more! "

"The new theme for the new James Bond flick has leaked, and, might I say, it rules. "

"As my buddies in Nola sit and wait to see what Gustav does, I told a few of them if need be to plan their hurrication for here. No one ever thinks of Lafayette. But seriously kiddos, there is a reason Lucinda wrote about this particular town, and even gave it the title! There a certain sweetness to it I can't quite describe, but everytime I had to go there for work, I couldn't WAIT to go back. It's like a whole town that feels like your cool older aunt with iced tea on the porch, and maybe a little bit of whiskey... heh. Blue Moon Saloon. Stay there. Not only is it a b n' b, but it's a freakin' amazing music venue. All local, all the time. Bar outside. Just bein' a little nostalgic as I watch the weather channel.... please excuse! "

"Haven't even THOUGHT about Vampire Weekend in a while. Alas, such fickle creatures are we. Good thing there's covers to remind us. I actually loathe this Fleetwood Mac song. They do it some justice. If you want it, I can email it to ya, just send me a note!"
"This is allllll thanx to Red on this one. I had heard a few previews/streams/random mp3's here and there. This is also my case for why I tend to dig iLike over services like Pandora. Sometimes just a random listen to a song won't do it for me, but a friend like Nicole who won't shut UP about how she just HAS to get her hands on the new Dandy's peaks my interest more than normal, and because of that, I end up liking and discovering more than I would before. Anyway, she also introduced me to the amazing world of torrents, and on random nights when I choose to turn the tv off, I find a TON of stuff. This was on the to-do list, and I can't believe I waited. Hope you all forgive me for being so slow on the uptake. This album makes me warm in the special places. ;-p"

"Now I'm not so worried for the new Lily Allen album afterall. That is, if they let this track on there. Brilliant! What would be more brilliant is if the people that she's singing this to, sing along because it's so catchy, and don't realize what's really going on in the lyrics. She's gone and topped herself. Who ever said 'fuck' in lyrics was childish? This rules. "

"FREE MP3! FROM THE PRETENDERS!! YES I'M SHOUTING!!! THIS IS FRIGGIN' COOL!!!! Chrissy Hynde has unending coolness. She be my hero. "

"New KINGS!!! Whaaaaaaaaaaa? Such nice boys. www.kingsofleon.com for the free prezzie. Not too bad for a Monday, eh?"

"Spent the weekend crackin' open some Mates of State. Way better than I thought upon first listen a few weeks ago. I should put this on shuffle along with the 1900's, She and Him, the White Stripes, and possibly some other happy-go-lucky tunes and go hopping around the house!"

"It's a cover I never knew I had! Sometimes I start downloading so quick, I never listen to anything. This is the shiz-nizzle. Fo-rizzle. Sorry about that. If you'd like a copy, hit me up with an email. It's soooooo goooood. "

"Here's a band I had on a to do list, for what seems like forever. Took a bud of mine going to Bonnaroo (which I will NEVER do, btw) and getting blown away, which he NEVER is, to finally get me to sit down and take a listen. Garsh. I'm a fool. Friends don't let friends miss out on some cool ass tunes. I'm doing this as my duty!"

"http://www.daytrotter.com/article/1344/ha-ha-tonka Go GET! I've praised the HHT before, but this is incredibly cool, because not only do they team up with Phil from SSLYBY, but they do a cover of a song from yet another Springfield band, Big Smith. Check them out too. I'm officially in summer-mode now! "

"Ummmmmm. I would figure that most of my friends on here would already be one of 2 things: 1) over the Girl Talk crap or 2) think it's total load of bs fun that we've needed for a while. Anyone? Anyone? You can download the new album for free ala 'in rainbows' style. I recommend it. Because, imagine inviting some peeps over and then dropping this deliciousness on them. Jaws will most certainly drop, and you'll have crunked the party up, all while playing ONE group. Interesting, eh?"

"Helllllooooooo! I'm back from the dead. Well, I guess not the dead, just the "stress from moving". Which to me is worse than being dead. Next time I decide to move, slap me... hard, ok? Obviously, we know the G.A. rules, this is actually to show off a new plug in for your mac, if you happen to be a mac-geek like me: http://www.iconcertcal.com/. Try it, and tell me it isn't the coolest thing EVARRR. And hell, I just moved to Dallas, and this was the first thing that told me they were coming to town! So, it's already doing it's job, straight of a download. Here's to knowing all the cool shows coming near you, and to never being a stranger again!"

"Thought I'd let you guys know who I saw at Jazzfest. This guy. Yup. Was there all day, and I literally only saw THIS GUY. Can you believe he's still alive? Actually quite incredible. There's just too many old friends at the track and WAY too much good food to worry about the music, believe it or not. (Well, that is, if you LIVE here.) Besides, all the GOOD music is late at night.... But for the record, you've got a friend in me! ;-p"
"This is more of a 'how I was feeling yesterday' rec. My scooter be broke, and I've got no dough, so I tried to replace a spark-plug, all by myself. That shit is HAAARD! I'll tell you what though, being up to my elbows in grease, having some Wolfmother cranked up in the background, the passerby comments were plentiful, I must say! And even though I couldn't get the sucker off, I still felt accomplished.... I don't know why. "

"One of those chicks I would've just skipped right over if not for iLike. One of her top friends on myspace? That'd be Kathleen Edwards. Thank you friends for pointing my stupid face in the right direction. She's insanely stupid incredible!"

"You know what? I was not totally sold on Destroyer. Now I am. I think it's got just enough campy-ness mixed with hippie-ness for me to 'get' it. And it sounds damn good in the morning. So there. "
Apr 23, 2008
"Just a hidden Louisiana gem (by way of Sweden) that I always mention to friends to go see at Jazzfest. When you've got time, look her up on myspace and youtube. Girl can fiddle her ass off, and trust me, if you haven't heard of her, it's likely you've heard of the people she's jammed with. It's Jazzfest season, baybeeeee!"
Apr 21, 2008
"Who's coming to Jazzfest? Hmmmmmmm? Not even sure I'll be able to make it in on Friday when they go up, but that doesn't mean there's not a chance of catching them in some tiny bar around town that night. I've got some other 'festy jems you can only get here. Coming soon!"

"Day late and dollar short on this one. All well, can't win 'em all. Just glad I found them when I did! Fun as friggin' hell! My take? YeahYeahYeahs+KingsOfLeon+Elastica get in a car crash and make love afterward. An orgasmic collision, perhaps? ;-p"

"http://www.stereogum.com/bjork/ Um, guys? Go there. Stereogum covered ALL of Bjork's Post. You can have it. For FREE. It's rather incredible. I have memories of becoming too hip for the room to this cd somewhere in the mid to late 90s. Now I can relive it all again, but covered!!!! I'm in heaven. (But no longer too hip for the room! ;-p ) "

"holy cow.. never knew they could actually SURPRISE me with lyrics. And well, I have a tad bit of, errr, contempt, for my current occupation, so this will be receiving tons of airplay at la casa de Vydra! So happy with this latest effort, in totaaaal. "

When in October? I love the Walkmen live. And it's been over a year since I've seen them. Speaking of BFs, how's yours? Still lurking around Breck? And how's the gig going. We need to catch up.

Are you kids planning an iLike girls' weekend with Ohio boys The Black Keys? Are they playing with My Morning Jacket there, too? And why aren't I invited?
